In order to be successful in the market, producers of tire cords always have to look for new and innovative products. A special position is given to hybrid yarn constructions in this matter.

The main characteristic of hybrid yarn constructions is their unique stress-strain curve which is imperative in the performance of tires. This stress-strain curve can be adjusted by varying the used material, the turns of twists and the excess lengths between the individual components.

The new option FlexiTwist provides our customers with the possibility to adjust the stress-strain curve of hybrid yarn constructions to their liking. Furthermore, the production of such hybrid yarn constructions is continuous, meaning it only takes one process.

How does FlexiTwist work?

The new option FlexiTwist in combination with our machine CC5-3PLY enables you to run different turn speeds and turns of twists on spindles belonging to the same spindle group.

This results in different turns of twists and twist directions in the different cords. Depending on the difference in turns, hybrid yarn constructions with a unique structure can be produced. It is also possible to create 2-ply and 3-ply hybrid yarn constructions in relation to the used spindle type – two-for-one or cabling.
