During the seminar part of the summit, Saurer was delighted to have local industry specialists share their views on future trends in China. As one of the world's leading textile nations, China is in many ways a trendsetter for modern intelligent equipment, as well as setting advanced targets for sustainability. These insights were well received by the international audience.
Mr Dong Kuiyong, President of China Cotton Textile Industry Association, addressed the participants on "Sustainable Development of China's Cotton Textile Industry", emphasising China's role in the global textile value chain and the important position of China's textile industry. Mr Gu Ping, President of China Textile Machinery Association, presented the current situation and development trends of the textile machinery industry, as well as the policies and development trends for the recycling and utilisation of textile waste, which is becoming increasingly important.
It was a special honour to have some of Saurer's customers share their success stories and history with the audience, in addition to the speeches by Saurer's management and product specialists.
Mr A. Kadir Kurtul, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iskur Holdings (Türkiye), introduced Iskur, today a successful Turkish conglomerate and a partner of Saurer for decades. As a visionary, Iskur started early with innovations in recycling. Cooperation, especially in spinning recycled fibres and mill automation, has proven to be mutually beneficial. Iskur is closely linked to Saurer Autocoro, being the first to receive the world's longest Autocoro 11 with 816 positions.
Mr Burhan Kaplan, CEO of Biska Spinning Mills (Türkiye), spoke about the close relationship between Biska and Saurer Zinser and how the companies have grown side by side. Much of the research and development of Zinser ring spinning machines is also carried out in close cooperation between the two companies. Today, the world's longest ring spinning frame is running in their factory and Biska will soon be the first to receive the super-long Zinser 51 with a record number of spindles. Biska, a traditional ring spinner, was the first to order the new Autocoro 11.
Mr Kamran Arshad Ghazi, CEO of Ghazi Fabrics International Limited (Pakistan) and Chairman of the Pakistan Textile Manufacturers' Association (APTMA), spoke about Ghazi Fabrics and its vision to become Pakistan's first vertically integrated company. He emphasised the need to be committed to being the most advanced and quality driven company in terms of industry benchmarks, profitability, and stakeholder interests.
Mr Liu Yifang, Vice Chairman of DIW, introduced his company ahead of the upcoming visit. He talked about the excellent speed at which the factory was built and the advantages of having plentiful raw material and power resources. DIW has successfully built and put into operation 300,000 ring spindles in 8 months, which is an impressive demonstration of DIW's execution power.
