"At the beginning of 2005, we established the factory with Saurer open-end machines, today we produce 6 400 tons of yarn per year with 5 400 spinning units. As raw material, we use cotton fibre recycled from textile scraps, which has increased our profitability. This has had a positive impact on the environment, too," says Mr Yağcı, pictured above with his son Mr Murat Yağcı on the right.

"We have three generations of Saurer Autocoro open-end machines. We started yarn production with Saurer, and it has also been our companion on our recycling journey. Our Autocoro open-end machines contributed to our positive company image in terms of production, efficiency and yarn quality. They also reduced our production costs," he adds.

His son and successor, Mr Murat Yağcı, says: "We have a responsibility to leave a better world for future generations, so we aim to increase our share of the recycled yarn market even more by consuming less cotton, dye and water. We are also installing solar energy panels on the factory’s roof to optimise the consumption of our limited sources and use sustainable sources of energy, too."

Today, Kempaş İplik exports 50% of its products and is one of the Inditex Group-approved suppliers. It also has Oeko-Tex and GRS certificates. Kempaş mainly produces recycled cotton-virgin polyester blend yarns ranging from Ne 6 to Ne 36, with different mixing ratios, mainly Ne 28 knitting and weaving yarns. 

Factory manager Mr Hasan Durmuş adds: "Saurer has been our solution partner for many years. We are very pleased with the user friendliness of the machines, their high efficiency and yarn quality standard as well as the high level of service provided by Saurer Turkey."
