Electronic engineers for devices and systems organise production processes, set up production and test machines and help in quality assurance. In addition, they also organise the procurement of components and operating media. They support technicians or engineers in the processing of orders. In addition to the installation and configuration of programmes and operating systems, their tasks include checking components, drawing up device documentation and creating layouts and production documentation. Maintenance is also a part of their area of responsibility. They will locate error sources in aftersales service and repairs of devices, including replacement of defective components. They will also advise customers and train users. They are qualified electricians in terms of accident prevention regulations.
