This combined engineering degree, also called cooperative engineering training (KIA), is one of the courses offered by FH Aachen. This 4 year course in the field of mechanical engineering (process and construction engineering) culminates in the academic degree "Bachelor of Engineering".

Practical training comes first in the first two years of this dual course. The training course is set up in the first year with 4 days at the training company and one day at the Jülich Vocational College. From the second year of the dual course, full time study is implemented at the Jülich campus of FH Aachen with one vocational study day. During semester holiday, the students will work in the training company. The course is completed with a bachelor thesis.

Following their completed studies, the engineers must demonstrate how they perceive the design implementation of their ideas into new or further development of products with draft concepts. They will develop the plans, carry out the calculations, contact sub-suppliers and set up price comparisons.

Pre-requirement: High school graduation/A-levels or advanced technical college certificate.
